A BABY DEVOURED. liL. AFTER DESPERATE DRIVE. Pi ess Association-Electric Telegraph-Copyright. (Received Tuesday, 5.45 a.m.) RIGA, Monday. A pack of starving wolves pursued a woman, accompanied by her babv, driving in a sledge. She drove desperately, but nearing the village the horse collapsed. Her cries brought out the peasants, but not in time to prevent the w-olves teaiing the- baby from her arms and devouring it before the mother’s eyes, and badly mauling the woman. — A.P.A. •and “Sun.”
