MAORI IN TROUBLE. DRUNK IN CHARGE OF CAR. A Gladstone Maori named Meta Waata was arrested in Queen Street, Masterton, at S o’clock last night for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car. At the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Messrs Eli Smith and Thos. AVagg, J’s.P., the defendant pleaded guilty. The Bench fined defendant £lO and cancelled liis driver’s license till 31st March next.
