TASMAN FLIGHT. SUCCESSFUL TEST. Tress Association-Electric Telegrapli-Copyrighi MELBOURNE, Thursday. Lieutenant Aloncrieff and Captain Knight 's machine underwent a successful test flight at Point Cook. Piloted by Captain G. Hood, it left the ground within a hundred yards of the starting point, and after remaining up for some time, effected an excellent landing. The Point Cook officials state that the liiers will probably commence the flight to Sydney on Friday morning. MINISTER’S ENTERPRISE. SYDNEY, Thursday. The Anglican Church is pressing an aeroplane into service to overcome the difficulties of travel by its ministers. As the result- of his experiences in outback districts, the Rev. Mr Daniels, of Wileannia, whose district covers about 40,00 square miles, has imported a de Ilaviland Moth machine, costing £IBOO, from England, with winch lie intends to do visitation work in his wide district, thereby overcoming the present long, slow, dangerous and time-wasting journeys by buggy and car. Mr Daniels held a commission in the Royal Air Force during the war. LINDBERGH’S FLIGHT. WASHINGTON, Wednesday. Colonel Lindbergh, who recently flew from Washington to Mexico City, left this morning for Guatemala City, where he arrived at 2 p.m, (Guatamala City is the capital of the Central American Republic of Guatemala, which is bound by Mexico, Belize, the Gulf of Honduras, Honduras, San Salvador and the Pacific). SOUTH POLAR EFFORT. (Received Friday, 9.10 a.m.) OSLO, Thursday. Byrd has purchased the steamer Samson of 273 tons in preparation for his South Polar flight.
