DISCHARGE OF RIFLE.
YOUTH INJURED. (By Telegraph —Prers Association.) WANGAN I’T, Wednesday. A serious accident bcfcl a youth, ltdward Head, of Turakina, aged IS years, early last evening, through the accidental discharge of a rifle. The boy and his cousin had been out shooting. On returning home they had extracted, as they thought, all the bullets from the repeating pea-rille they had been using. One of the cartridges, however, had unknowingly been left in the weapon, which was discharged while cleaning operations were being carried out. Head received the bullet in the abdomen. lie was removed to the Wanganui Hospital, and, after an operation had been performed, bis condition was reported as serious.
