A SUGGESTION.
(To the E htor). Sir. —As a visitor to your town on Christmas Eve, I was struck by the absolute lack of consideration on the part, id- the motorists. Now, Sir, when the Duke of York was in Wellington, the local governing authority made restrictions as to what streets were to be closed to traflie. Cannot your local authority do the same for New Year’s Eve, tints leaving the main stret free.(for oi.ee) to the gene nil pedestrian public? Otherwise 1 can but appeal to the fairness of the motorists. Why not use the back streets.’—l am, etc., A MOTORIST.
