NOTORIOUS PICK POCKET.
CAUGHT RED-HANDED. (B} r Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. A pickpocket with an international record was caught red-handed at the New Brighton trotting meeting last week, and he made his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court to-day. His name is Dimes O’Brien, 66 years of age, and two charges were preferred against him that he attended the races while prohibited, and that he stole two ten shilling notes from James Samuel Horne.
O’Brien was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence for theft, and on the trespass charge was fined £lO, in default six weeks.
