DESTRUCTIVE FIRE
HOMESTEAD DESTROYED. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Thursday. Corwar homestead, the residence of Air R. G. McLean, of Barrhill, was burned to the ground at 0.00 a.m..today. Tlxe fire had such a good hold when discovered that the family had to make a hurried exit in their night attire. Nothing wa-s saved, and only the chimneys and concrete walls remain. The building, a large two-storev residence, was built many years ago by the late Mr J. Gatheart Wason, at one time a member of the -House of Reprcsentatievs, and later of the House of Commons.
