NEW REGULATIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Fader a recent weights and measures regulation from January 10th, it will be an offence for any person to sell bv package the following articles in any other quantities than in one ounce, two ounce, four ounce, six ounce, twelve ounce, one pound, one and a half pounds or multiples of a pound net avoirdupois weight: one fluid ounce, two fluid-ounce, half gill, one gill, half pint, one pint, one and a half pint, one quail, half gallon, one gallon, or multiples of , a gallon net measure: Sugar, coffee, coffee and chicory, cocoa and cocoa powder, chocolate powder, treacle and golden svrup, pepper, mustard, black Japan, and including substitutes, Brunswick Black, including substitutes, candles and other than fancy, nails including clout, nails, staples, brads, panel pms and gimp pins, tobacco, turpentine including mineral substitutes, varnish including stain and lacquer. The regulations will apply to paints
after July 10th. The provisions shall not apply to any article weighed or measured in the presence of the purchaser, and where Ihe weight or measure is asked for. They shall not apple to any article sold in a bottle excent in the case of milk.
