PENSION TO WORKERS.

THE SIXTY SCHEME TOO COSTLY. LONDON, Wednesday. In reply to a question in the House of Commons, Mr Winston Churchill said the cost of pensions to all workers aged sixty in order to remove them from industry would be serious. On a basis of thirty shillings weekly it would cost 350 millions sterling for the first year, rising to six hundred millions in 1960. He did not favour a committee enquiry into the scheme. —A.P.A. and’ “Sun.”
