At the inquest on John, James Keane, the Cook County Engineer, whose body was found in the Waia-ata River on Tuesday with his motor car balanced 3 on a bridge and the side wheels over the river, and the door open, evidence was given that deceased had taken the corner sharply turning on to the bridge and having just avoided running over the side of the bridge, he swerved to the other side and apparently fell or was jolted through the door into the river. A verdict was returned of accidental drowning during the course ol’ his dutties as County Engineer.
