WEDDING.

MACKLEY—HILTON. A pretty wedding took place in Knox Church last evening when Air John C. I). Alacklcy, second son of Mr and Airs J. G. Alacklcy, of Lansdowne, was married to Aliss Alelva Irene Hilton, eldest daughter of Air and'Mrs Hilton, of Cornwall Street, AlastydipE The bride was given away father and was gowned in a sleeveless creation of deep cream mariette over shell pink satin with a racked bodice and full petalled skirt. Her veil,’ which formed a train, was of fine silk net with touches of shell pink and her shoes were of pale• pink satin. She carried a sheaf of lilies tied with pale pink tulle. *’ The bridesmaids were Aliss Agnes_ : ■Evans and Aliss M. Alunro, who wore gowns of lavender georgette with hip sashes of lavender taffetas shot with gold. They wore gold shoss and headbands and carried posies of pink, blue and lavender sweet peas secured with coffee tulle. AHss Joan Hilton, sister of the bride, wore a dainty frock of pale blue crepe do chine trimmed with coffee val lace and miniature floral posies. Two tiny maids were also in attendance —Eflie Hilton, sister of the bride,'and Alargaret Jenkins. They wore frocks of palest do chine witli round yolks and of coffee val lace and trimmed with tiny posies. They carried gilded baskets of pink, blue and lavender sweet peas. Mr R. Nicol, of Palmerston North, was best man, and Air E. R. Alacklcy, brother of the bridegroom, was groomsman.

A reception was held in the Parish Ilail where over one hundred guests honoured the health of the young couple. Mrs Hilton received the guests in a frock of peach mariette with crinoline hat ,to tone, worn with a coat of heavy black satin with petalled collar. Airs J. C. Macklcy wore a frock of navy maroeain and a navy hat. Following the breakfast which was carried out in cabaret style, the evening was devoted to dancing.
