Lady Marjorie Dalrymple will.' take over the headship of Woodford College after tire Christmas holidays.

The many friends of Mrs S. .T. Gill will learn with deep regret of the bereavement which she has sustained through the death,'on Saturday, of her mother, Mrs Marshall, at Kelburn, Wellington. Deceased was the widow of the late Captain .1. Marshall, and youngest ..daughter of the late Mr Henry Blundell, founder of the Evening Post. She is survived by one brother, Mr Louis Blundell, and a family of six, Mrs F. ,T. Wood (Perth, W.A.), Mrs W. E. Kawson (Wellington), Mrs H. RThomas (Wellington), Mrs A. D. BriggS (Wellington), Mrs S. J. Gill (Masterton), and Mr H. T. Marshall (Wellington). Tiie funeral of the late Miss W. Spershott took place yesterday morning with the customary Salvation Army ceremony, the Army eolours and band heading the procession to t'he cemetery. Services were conducted at Mr Hyde’s mortuary chapel and at the cemetery by Adjutant C'antv. At the graveside prayer was offered by Adjutant Batchelor, the Scriptures were read by the Kev. E. W. Weymouth, and Brother A. Addison spoke. Several hymns were sung and an impressive service was concluded by prayer by Adjutant Canty. In the evening a memorial service was held in the Salvation Army Hall. There was a large attendance of friends and sympathisers. Sister Kead and Lieutenant Spershott (sister of the deceased) spoke, and Adjutant Cautv gave an address. A solo was sung by Brs Canty. The pall-bearers were Messrs K. McGurk, R. Harrison, H. Pickering, K. C’atberall, D. McDougall and T. Brownlie. A sad feature is that deceased was about to lie married, and deep sympathy will be felt for the bereaved flanc-e Mr Fred Winter.
