AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
WAJRARAPA SUB-CENTRE. At a meeting of the Wairarapa' SubCentre of the N.Z.A.A.A., notice was received to the effect that the N.Z. A.A.A.’s revised book of rules was now' available from the secretary of the Association, Mr L. A. Tracy. The secretary was instructed to procure 25 copies as soon as possible. The permit, of the Wairarapa Caledonian ■Society to include the two mile, provincial championship in its sports programme, was endorsed by the Wellington Centre, also the granting of dates at the previous meeting. The Langdale Club .was granted January 15, the Fcatherstou Club* February 19, and the Ponatahi Club, Feboiary 26, as the dates for holding their annual sports meetings. The Mangatainoka Club’s sports programme was submitted and approved.
A protest was receive'! frora tlie hlasterton and Carterton Clubs against tiie country club’s. chain; ipnsiiips being lield on January 1. Th protests were endorsed by the Sub-centre and the secretary was instructed to forward same to Wellington Centro immediately. The secretary was instructed to enquire about the honour caps for the Wairarapa members of the New Zealand and Australian cross-country champion team; to renew thb application for reinstatement of A. Picken; and to compliment 'the Carterton officials which reported exceedingly good progress after a period of inactivity. A donaton of two guineas was voted to the Tinui Club in recognition of their financial loss sustained ■through having to forego the date of tlieir annual sports in favour of the American team’s visit to Masterton.
