AMERICAN PROFITS. (Received Monday, 9.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sunday. The United States Lawn Tennis Association has approved of the following tennis dates:—National singles, week beginning September Tilth, at tl;c West Side Tennis 'Club, New York, and the challenge round of the cup from September 9th to September 11th, at the Germantown Cricket Club’s courts, Philadelphia., I f-j *l® The treasurer, reported that the Association’s financial condition was the soundest in its history, the assets totalling over £20,000. The Association’s profits from the National singles tournament in 1925 totalled £7OOO, and from the Davis Cup) challenge round £I2OO. The Association was diving £IBOO of its annual profits among a certain number of country clubs, to promote tennis. ' AMERICAN PLAYERS. TO VISIT AUSTRALIA. (Received Monday, 8.55 a.m ) NEW YORK, Sunday. The United: States Lawn Tennis Association took steps on Saturday to authorise teams to visit Australia, England and France.

Approval was given to plans to. send at least two o-frihe leading men players this year' to participate in the Whubkc.on Jubilee and French national ehampionshin tournaments, and at least two men will go to Australia for the championships next summer. A rule was passed making Elizabeth Ryan eligible to represent the States in the Wightman Cup matches in .England, in. which four American women will play.—Aus. and N.Z.
