OTAGO NOMINATIONS. ; (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The following Otago players have been nominated for the South Island: — Full-back, Stevenson; three : quarters, Wise, Robinson; five-eighth, Townsend; half, St. George; forwards, Dickson, Sonntag, Williams, Pierce, 0. Knox.

The New Zealand Referees’ Association certificates have been granted to Messrs H. J. McKenzie and E. Freeman, members of the Wairarapa Referees’ Association.

And they call it sport'! Referring to 'the Carterton-Gladstone match on Saturday the Carterton paper states: appeared to realise his day oft, and his inability to 'handle or kick must have got on his nerves. He had ■possession of the ball and kicked it., as fel Booth tackled. Both foil, and McPhee, on rising, apparently struck Frank on the back of the neck. C. 'Henderson rushed in to avenge the inoiilt to his captain, and in turn appeared to strike MePhee. The latter turned again and Henderson shaped up, but nothing further occurred. It w\as fortunate for all concerned that the referee was intent on the game, and he 'lid not see the episode.”
