Union leaders conferred with Mr Charlton, Leader of the Labour Party, but the proceedings were held in camera. •Later the Federal Labour Party met and was addressed by Mr. Charlton.

The outcome of these proceedings, is expected to be another vote of .censure, on the Government in the House of Representatives for refusing to entertain. the/ suggestions advanced by the union, deputation on Tuesday.—(P.A.)

Mr. Garden, secretary of the marine transport group of unions, said war had been declared by the shipowners, and if Sydney, Melbourne and other cities of the Commonwealth .were plunged in darkness the, onus would not be on the men.
