WHAT MR. LANG FOUND.
(Received Saturday, 10.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day
Mr. Lang, the new Prime Minister, •• states that there is no surplus in the -State: finances. He said that his inquiries made it -clear that if the Treasury prepared its .accounts in the way an honourable . business man would, no surplus could be shown, whereas various statements have been made that the Fuller Goveminent was leaving behind a surplus .of £500,000. Any business can show a surplus if- it omits from its accounts ■ sufficient liabilities.—(P.A.)
