GOLF.
OPENING OF SEASON.
The Masterton Golf Club officially •opened the season on Staurday, when a large number of members participated In the mixed foursome. The new of the club’s pror tyerty was open for play, and the whole course was in excellent order. Afternon tea was provided by Mrs. H. G. Williams, wife of the club’s president. There was a large number of competitors, and the following were the best -cards handed in in connection with the -mixed foursome (nett scores given):— JMiss Robieson and Coom 65 'Miss Curtis and Donnbl 70 Mrs. Rishworth and E. W. Hornabrook 72 Mrs Hornabrook and .T. Ilornabrook 73 Miss James and Hodgins 74 ' Miss Murray and Lawrence 75 Miss Cumberworth and Kebbell . . 76 ‘Miss Perry and C. Perry 78 Trophies for the first and second ladies were donated by Mr W. M. Kebbell. The annual meeting of the club takes place this evening.
