MASTERTON v. WAIRAEAPA.

The annual fixture took place on the Masterton green on Saturday. The visitors were welcomed by Mr W. Nielsen, vice-president, in a neat little speech. COLTS’ MATCH.

The game for the colts’ competition was also included for the aggregate-; when Wilkinson, of the Masterton Club, defeated Rowlands, of the Park, by 24 to 17.

In the semi-final of the Masterton Club’s colts’ competition, Cotter defeated Shearer by 26 to 16. The final will be decided between Wall and P. Cotter for a trophy donated by Mr L. A. Wad ham.

CHAMPION OF CHAMPION PAIRS.

‘The’ champion of champions pairs contest was concluded on Saturday, Kerr and Thurston (Masterton Club) winning the title, v Faulkner and Bell met Harp and Feist. On the 20th head the scores were Harp 19/17. With a head to Bell drew twg beautiful shots Feist failed to beat. Harp played all his bowls too fast, leaving Faulknor two shots and a tie. On the extra head Bell outdrew Feist, leaving Faulknor one up.

In,the final game Faulknor and Bell met Kerr and Thurston. On the Id tit head the game stood Faulknor 16, Kerr 1. From this on the Park pair held command, and finished 24 to 20. This defeat left the Masterton representatives and Park three wins each. In the play-off Kerr and Thurston played a better game, and won by 22 to 15.
