STOCK MARKET.
PAHIATTJA CATTLE FAIR. The W.F.C.A., Ltd., report as follows:—A good yarding of all classes came forward, although there was a shortage on advertised numbers, the sale being held later than usual and clashing with the shearing operations of a number of clients who had entered stock. As with other recent cattlo sales there was a decided drop in the market, especially for bullocks, of which some extra good lots were penned. The continued dry weather, and the freezing prices quoted for beef affected values. Young cattle made good prices. Prices for grown bullocks ranged from £5 10s to £3 and a special line of 21 Hereford of exceptional quality, on account of Mr. A. Hoggard, made £8 ss. Other prices were: 3-year P.A. steers (108 in the line) £4 13s, Hereford cross £4 5s to £4 10s, ordinary sorts £3 10s, £3 15s to £4; 2-year steers, best quality £3 10s to £4 ss, others to £3; yearling steers P.A. cross £3 6s; Hereford cross £2 15s, others 30s to 355; fat cows (good) £6 16s, fat heifers to £5 15s, empty 2-year P.A. heifers £4 Is, others to £3 10s; yearling heifers 30s to 35ss; dairy sorts, yearlings to £2 ss, 2-year £2 9s, cows and calves to £3 9s, store cows 265. Several odd lots of coloured 4-year bullocks made £4 15s, £5, to £6.
