THE DBtVIOCRATSC PARTY ATTEMPT TO ASSUME LEADERSHIP. WASHINGTON, Monday. Mr Wiiliam Jennings Bryan issued a statement to-day which is considered by some' political leaders as an attempt to assume the leadership of the Democratic Party. Mr Bryan declared his confidence that the Democrats would win a majority in the House of Representatives if they would attack tho Republicans’ .weak economic policies as exemplified in the revenue laws defects.
Mr Bryan advised Democratic Senators to accept the Arms Conference treaties; because they were actually tho creation of tho Democratic Party.— Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
