CONDITION OF WALTON AVENUE. > RESIDENTS COMPLAIN. Seventeen residents of Walton’ Avenue petitioned the Borough Council last evening to do something to improve the street. They complained of the state of the wateJffhlfleaAuul the condition of the street’geiierally. Or. McLeod: “The request-has my hearty support. When I lived in Walton Avenue we knew it as ‘Mild Alley’.” , . ■ The Mayor: “No, Michael street was called Mud Alley.” 1 Cr. McLeod*: “Yes, and we called Walton Avenue Mud Alley, too.” Voices: “Walton Avenue is another Mud AUev.”
Cr. Henderson said that a report might be obtained regarding Hope street as well as Walton Avenue. Cr. McLeod drew attention to the bad state of George street, where the grass was covering the culverts. He thought, in fact, that there should be a report concerning all the back streets, as there were many in a similar condition to those mentioned at the Council table.
It was decided that the borough enginer be asked to supply the Council with a report on the matter.
