A MENACE TO HEALTH.

The visiting committee of the Masteiton West School Committee has presented a most scathing report in connection with (the sanitary conditions, etc., existing'at the Vistoria street school, which' comes under the jurisdiction of the Masterton 'Vest committee. The committee is doing a very useful work in drawing public attention to the condition of the school. Tt is little short of scandalous that in modern times children should be compelled to study in what are evidently very unhealthy surroundings. The educational authorities who are response ible for this .state of affairs deserve to be compelled to live and work in such surroundings lor the rest-of the.ir' liyes We trust that the Masterton West school committee will not allow the matter to rest where it is, but will vigorously protest to the educational authorities until the menace to the health of the children and the teachers is removed, and the school put in a proper sanitary condition.
