A cablegram from Tokio states thatBaron Hayashi, a former Governor off the Province of Kwangtung, South Manchuria, has been appointed Ambassador to Britain.

The following have been elected directors of the Pahiatua Farmers’ ciation for the ensuing year: —Messrs O’Brien (chairman), Ross, McCurdie,. Brechin, Beech, Verry, and Knox.. Messrs H. Morrison (Masterton) and, W. B. Matheson (Eketahuna), have been elected representatives of theeWellington Provincial Executive of theFarmers’ Union at the .annual DominioiiCoriference to be held iu Wellington.

Drs. P. M. and Florence Keller, off Auckland, are at present residing at Glendale, a beautiful suburb of Loa Angeles, California. Dr. P. M. Keller studied pedriatics at the University of California Hospital, San Francisco; and Dr. Florence Keller is studying diseases of women, and doing gynaecological surgery at the White Memorial Hospital, Los Angeles. Both are also* on the staff of the Los Angeles County Hospital. They will return to Auckland.

At the annual meeting of the Eketahuna Club the following officers were, elected: President, Mr F. C. Tumor (re-elected); vice-president, Mr A. H„ Herbert; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. S. Tripe (re-eilected); ' committee i Messrs G. T. Allen, R. J. Foss, J. B. Carruthers, P. Pike, A. McE. Mason.
