ARMENIAN REVOLT
AGAINST TARTARS. DESPERATE FIGHTING. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received Monday, 8.45 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Saturday. The Armenian newspaper, • ’ .lag< laniard, ' ’ published an Erivan Government communique announcing that the Armenians in the Zangezur and Kai’it bagh districts rose against the Tartar Government in the middle of March, and after desperate fighting over-ran the intervening Tartar area, captured a number of villages anil the Fifth and Seventh Battalions of the Azerbarman Regular Army. The cause of the outbreak was a TurcoTurtar attempt to disarm the Armenians.
