LICE-INFECTED SHEEP.
EXPOSED FOR SALE. FIVE DEFENDANTS FINED. SeVeral defendants were charged at the Masterton Police Court: this morning W’ijth- having exposed liee-iufeeted sheep jfor sale. T. T. P. Hubbard,' Stock Inspector, said that in some cases the sheep had been ineffectually dipped, but in other cases lio effort had been made to dip the sheep. In the latter cases he would ask fpv a more severe penalty. The (lefendants were lan Balfour, E. Wellwood, Ralph Morriss, B. J. Keliiher, and Alex Narbey. s The only defendant to appear was lan Balfour.liispeetor Hubbard said that in this case defendant had dipped his sheep, but lice still remained. Defendant wjis fined 40s and costs. Inspector Hubbard said iu the cases of Wellwood. Narbey, Morris and Kelliher the! sheep were badly infected and had no: appearance of having been dipped.! These; four .defendants were each fined £o and costs.
