GOVERNMENT EXPLOITATION.

One of the chief reasons why the Government does not take action against the exploiters and profiteers of this country is because it is engaged in the same no-fjarious 'business. We know liow the Post, and Telegraph Department exploited the public during tho influenza epidemic by refusing to accept telegrams except at urgent rates, thus exploiting the public in their hour of sorrow and distress. In the curtailment of tho railway service we have a similar state of affairs. In another hour of distress the public are being openly fleoced and made to pay higher charges for the transmission, of goods than would be the case in normal times. Certain goods will not be accepted by the Department as "goods," but they will be carried on tho railways as "parcels" at a very much higher charge. Of course, this is not exploitation—oh, dear, no!
