The Re\. T. llaliday moved, and tie- Lev. L. W'.-hsh seconded, that the i 'resl.ytt-ry disapprove ot' such, a union. Mr E. Foist, the L\\. R. 11.. Catherwood, .Lev. .1. McGregor and tlie Lev. 11. Inglis spoke in favour of the union, while Messrs Wingate and M. .1. McGregor spoke against. On being put to the vote the motion against union was carried by one vote. Thereupon -Mr E. Feist-gave notice that, he would move at the next ordinary lueeting of the Presbytery that the motion be rescinded.

It was reported that the Rev. O. T. Brown had returned from tho front and hoped to take up his duties in Masterton at an early date.

An interesting letter from the .Rev. T. Riddle, the Presbytery's missionary in the Punjal>, India, was read, and the clerk was instructed to send a suitable reply.
