CHARGE AGAINST LICENSEE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Tuesday.

Sarah McLeod, licensee of the Great Eastern Hotel, Eiverton, was charged with permitting drunkenness on her licensed premises, and refusing to admit a, constable and exposing liquor for sale after ti o'clock on November Bth, the false Peace Day. The defence was, that the man who was drunk was a. brother-in-law staying at the house. The, charges of exposing liquor were dismissed. McLeod "was convicted on the other charges, and fined £10 and costs.

Charges-against two men who were; found on the premises wore dismissed.
