THAT WELCOME HOME.
The welcome home which the people of Masterton accorded to the returning soldiers last evening was reminiscent of those extended to the soldiers iv the early days of the war. Ifc was a reception which did Masterton credit. Tho soldiers themselves were somewhat surprised at the hearty welcome—and well they might be. It is to be hoped that in future we shall see our returning heroes welcomed in as fitting a
manner as those boys were who returned last night. The Central and Silver Bands are to be congratulated on their promptitude in turning out to wel come the boys home last night. Their action might well bo copied by other organisations in the town who arc able to fall into lino in a procession and help to make a spectacular display.
