GERMAN PRISONERS.
ESCAPE FROM SOMES ISLAND. ' ONE DIES FROM EXPOSURE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Some time during the night four interned Germans escaped from Somos Island on a rudely constructed raft, with tho evident intention of going to the city sido of the harbour. Tho raft, however, drifted ashore towards Potoue, and swamped. (One of the men died from exposure. The others landed and wore arrested by the civil police. They aro now in a weak condition. Later a rudely fashioned sextant was found floating in the vicinity of the lauding.
