SPLIT WIDENING

LONDON, Wednesday.
A statement mado by Mr Appleton, secretary of tho General Federation of Trades Unionists, following Mr Hodge's action, indicates that the split in the Labour Party is widening. Mr Appleton stated that tho whole of the labour movement was being handed over to men who really do not belong to it, and whose chief aim seems to be to build up after-war positions for themselves in enemy countries.
