THE SITUATION IN RUSSIA.
That a strong policy of Allied intervention in Russia will have a marked effect on the war is generally recognised. That this policy is about to bo launched by the Allies is becoming very apparent. Japan is no doubt flooding troops into Vladivostock, while the Chinese are quietly preparing to do their bit the moment they arc called upon. The interests of Japan and China are identical ! as far as eastern Siboria is concerned. The policy of both these nations for many years past has been the same as far as Germany is concerned. China before the war was helpless and unable to resist tho Hun, but Japan was strong enough to defy Germany. She
not only defied the Huns, but she proclaimed herself protector, of China, and when war broke out she drove tho Germans out of Chinese, territory. Japan now fears that by tho Hun operations in Russia Germany.will bo brought too close to the Far East, and that is why she is anxious to launch a blow against the enemy in Siberia. Of course, at tho present time tho." Czocho-Slovaks only arc supposed to fight the enemy iv eastern Siberia, but wo may be sure that it will not be long before Japan and America will have' a finger in the pic.
