ALLOWANCES AND PENSIONS,

The Second Division League Conference in Wellington decided to ask Parliament to fix the following scale of tfeparation allowances and pensions for the dependents of married soldiers: — PAY OF SOLDIERS. ."Five shillings per day as for First Division. ■Separation allowance to wife or sole dependent, 6s per day. 'The payment to children was recommended at Is 6d per day for each rhild, and to a motherless child 2s (id per day. ;Extra, allowance to wife (chronic iuva■•n__los u per week extra. PENSIONS. To widow with children, £3 3s.
