A London cable states that Sir Eric Gcddes, the newly-appointed First Lord of the Admiralty, has been appointed :-fco the Privy Council.

At Martinborough on Thursday Mr 4Arth«r Kitto was married to Miss Hazel Ross, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs ,J. M. Ross, of Martinborough.

Mr C. J. Dennis, the author of "The ■Sentimental Bloke," was married in [Melbourne recently. Mrs Dennis's first -name is not "Dorcen," but Madge.

Mr Aaron House, a well known Wnitrarapa identity, and formerly of Tcmu, died suddemJv at Solway Homo this" '■saioming. Tho funeral will take place •to-morrow. Nurse Shaw, of the staff of tho Kwala Lampur Hospital, Selaugor, Federated Malay States, is on a holiday visit to rMasterton, and is stopping with her aunt Miss Shaw, of Essex street. Kwala Lampur is the capital of the Selangor State.
