f BREAKING UP ON MEXICAN
COAST.

The Japanese armoured cruiser Asama, 9885 tons, 22.1 knots, is breaking up on the Mexican coast, near Point Bartolzmi. The fate of the creAV of 500 is unknown. The Asama participated in the Russo-.Japanese war. (The cruiser Asama was built at Elswick and launched in 1898. Her length was 408 feet, beam 67 feet, and draught 241 feet, and she had an indicated, horse-power of 19,000. She carried four Sin and fourteen Gin guns, tAvelve 12-poundcrs, eight 2£-pounders, and live torpedo tubes.)
