FIREMEN'S DISPUTE.
»._ _ -... MAORI STILL STUCK UP AT
LYTTELTON.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) , CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. The shortage of firemen compels the Union Company to keep the steamer Maori tied up at Gladstone pier, while her running is being maintained by the
fateena. All the .officers, deck hands and stewards are still on board, and, Bhould the '. vessel procure tho necessary complement for the stokehold, she should be able to sail almost immediately in her regular running. As many of the men who signed off have joined other steamers, there seems little chance of her sail:ing for a few days at least.
