TOWN HALL PICTURES.

The Town Hall was packed at both sessions on Saturday, when an excellent array of pictures was shown. Tho audience were delighted with the films, particularly the grand drama, "The Christian," and the screaming Vitagraph "Wild Animals at Large." "The Love of Chrysanthemum" was a capital study, "Diamonds iv Brazil" a good educational, aud "Sight Seeing in Japan'" an interesting travel picture. A superior selection of comedies was headed by another of tho renowned "One Round O'Brien" series, viz., "One Round O'Brien's Flirtation." This enjoyable programme will be repeated to-night for the last time There will be no pictures to-morrow night, but on Wednesday night tho management will present a faithful record of Captain Scott's expedition to the Pole, filmed on the spot by the eminent photographic expert, Mr Herbert G. Pouting, F.R.G.S., who accompanied the expedition. The British Antarctic Expedition, under Captain Scott, E.N., left London in June, 1910. It was the greatest scientific enterprise ever sent out of England, and this magnificent film follows the intrepid explorers to the point whore the moving picture machine could not be transported lurther. It is an artistic entertainment of considerable educational value, and is one of the most valuable contributions to the cause of science ever made. To-night a special feature of _ the programme will be a portrayal of the Auckland Exhibition. The picture is a particularly fine one. On Wednesday and Thursday next "Skipper" Francis will make a return appearance.
