KURIPUNI METHODIST CHURCH.

ANNUAL MEETING. The anniversary services in connection with the Kuripuni Methodist Church were held on Sunday. The services in the morning were conducted by the Rev. S. J. Serpell, and in the evenIng iiv Mr ILornsby, both being well attend i'*d. A public meeting was held last, evening. Mr C. E. Dnniell occupied the chair. Speeches on Church work, in general were delivered by the chairman, the Rev. Mr Serpeil, and Messrs ilornsby, Minifie and Burton. The trust report was presented by the secretary, Mr E. Jones, and the financial statement by the treasurer, Mr Terry. The choir, assisted by friends, provided splendid music.

The report states that tin , Sunday services, both morning and evening, have been well attended. Thanks to the ministrations of our pastor (Rev. Mr Serpell), and Mr llornsby, the services have been bright and helpful, and we trust that much good seed has fallen by the way that shall bye and bye bear good fruit. During the year we lost Mr Olds through removal. He has left behind him very pleasant memories of bis work at Kuripuni. We wish him continued success wherever he may be called to work in the Master's service. Our Church is again especially indebted to the organist M iss Burton for her unselfish devotion, .Sunday by Sunday, in leading the praises in God 's house. The choir is still doing good work in the service of song; one and all doing their best, and to Mr W. Kigg, the conductor, we, offer our best thanks. The choir is sadly in need of male voices. We should be glad if some of our musical friends would assist us in still further improving the service of song. During the year the Trustees have increased the insurance on the Church buildings from £.'550 to £550. The church has been painted at a cost of £.1.4 ss, and the school was also painted at a cost of £5. Of this amount Mr Burton collected £4, the trust paying the balance. We offer our special thanks to the "father" of our, Church, who, in season and out of season, never .spares himself in the -Master's service. The balance due on the piano has now been paid off. and it has become the property of the Trust. To our friends who assisted to purchase this instrument, we offer our thanks. The Ladies' Guild has done splendid work during the year. A sum of £9 9s was collected. During the year they purchased and presented to the church three dozen hymn books and donated tl .""is to the piano fund. We desire to thank the ladies of our Church for their ready help at all times. Recognising the need for a new room, the Young bailies' Bible Class set to work in earnest with that object in view, to raise funds. Six months after making this determination the room was erected and furnished at a cost of about £(SH. With the help of the Ladies' Guild a garden party was held at Sol way and £15 was contributed to this room. The youngladies desire to gratefully acknowledge Mr F. Matthew's help in papering the room. There is still a balance of £15 owing, which they have determined shall be paid off before the end of the year. It will be absolutely necessary to devise some scheme during the coming year towards the purchase ot a new organ. The present one has done good work, but is getting old and wheezy. Improvements to the roadway and to the entrance to the church have been much appreciated, and as the weather gets finer we hope to see still further improvement. During the year our friends contributed no less than £105 ICs Id to the circuit funds. The trust income was £35 8s lid, and the expenditure £:jl 9s 9d, leaving v balance to credit of £3 34s 2d.
