(Received Wednesday, at S a.m.)
DELHI. Tuesday
Lord Ilardinge, Viceroy of India, who was seriously injured by a wouldbe assassin, recently, when opening the Legislative Council, said he was profoundly grateful for the sympathy shown to him during his suffering. He regretted the loss of humble lives, lv most cases such crimes were the outcome of organised conspiracies, which could only be dispelled by the public's determination to treat the perpetrators ami inciters as enemies of society. Among the incentives should be included intemperate political language tending to influence ill-balanced minds into committing hideous crimes. He was confident the people of India would stamp out this tendency.
