The second oi" Messrs Thompson and Pa vug's special star attractions, "Tho Two Orphans," will be shown for the first time to-night. The story is of a pathetic and sensational nature surrounding the life history of a woman anrl two orphans. The drama created quite, a furore among patrons of pictrue theatres in London and Paris recently. This splendid photo-drama is a revelation iv what can bo done in tho moving picture line. The story is written about the life of Eleanor do Vaudrev, wiio soeretiv marries a man beneath her. A child is born, Louise, the blind girl. Eleanor's father Kills her husband aud forces her to marry the Count rle Linioros, who remains ignorant of Louise's existence. Louise is placed with a peasant woman lor safe keeping. When the peasant woman dies her child ami Louise set out for Paris. Arrived in Paris a roue, the Marquis etc Preales, notices iicnriette, the peasant's daughter, aurt iinallv abducts her. Then follow some sensational scenes, turning upon the pursuit of Henriette by Louise, who is forced to sing for her living in the snow-clad streets of Pans. The story is well sustained and the picture has alrcarlv acquired the reputation at Home as being one of the few which will remain in the public estimation as one. of the epoch-marking ■■cine' pictures of the age.
