RUGBY UNION APPREHENSIVE
The Wellington Rugby Union feels apprehousivo regarding tho effect which four military daylight parades, which are expected to tako place this month, will have upon football. "I think we ought to make a mighty big protest, about it, I think we ought to make those blokes sit up, "remarked Mr F. C. Atkinson at last evening's meeting of the union's management committee, when discussion was proceeding respecting these parades. "Four Saturdays they want!" declarer! another delegate in answer to a query as to the number of parades. "lit would kill our junior football for the season," said Mr Atkinson. "And a lot of our senior football too,'' intimated Messrs W. Hardham and W. Perry. "We had better confer with the 'soccer' and hockey people," suggested Mr A. E. Wilson:; "I know they are going into tho question." Messrs E. O. Hales, W. Perry and J. Burns were deputed to confer with othor winter sports bodies with the object of approaching the defence authorities on the matter.
