SCHOOL INSPECTORSHIPS.
WELLINGTON BOARD APPOINTMENTS,
In considering the question of appointing a successor to its third inspector—appointed recently to tho priucipalship of the Teachers' Training College—the Wellington Education Board on Tuesday decided that tho growth of the school population and the extension of the teaching establishments in the district warranted an additional inspector, and from tiie list of applicants for the advertised position selected by ballot Mr A. B. Charters, M.A., at present headmaster of the Greytown District High School, and Mr F. G. Stuckoy, M.A., headmaster of the Island Bay School. Tho new inspectors aro old sorvan ts of the Wellington Board, anrl well known to most of tho teachers in tho service. Each holds a Bl certificate. Mr Charters is recognised by his contemporaries as a most capable teacher, and possesses a personality which enables him to get quickly into touch with pupils and teachers alike. He is also commanding officer for tho Second Battalion of the 9th (East Coast) N.Z. Infantry Regiment, saw service in South Africa, and is generally recognised as a keen citizen soldier. Mr Stuckoy holds high qualifications in science, and has distinguished himself m laboratory work at Victoria College—Dominion.
