PRESENTATION.

MR F. C. FOWLER,

Prior to leaviug for Wellington yesterady afternoon Mi F. O. Fowler was made the recipient of a presentation from the members of the Bowling Club and the Farmers' Oorameruial Club. The members met on the bowling greeu, when tho President, Mr James Whittaker, ou behalf of those present, asked Mr Fowler's acoeptauce of a case of pipes, aud a silvermounted tooacco pouch, suitably inscribed, as a mark of the esteem iv which he was held. He apologised tor the absence of the Mayor, who was unavoidably detained. A number of other meu?bers also spoke expressing regret that Mr Fowler' was leaving, and wishing him every success in his new sphere. Mr Fowler responded iv happy vein, cordially thanking those present for their gift aud the good wishes that accompanied it.

From Wellington Mr Fowler proceeds to Melbourne, where he has received an important appointment.
