PERSONAL MATTERS.
The Key. Baiu Macdonald has returned from Auckland, aud is now the guest of Mr H. A. Bygum, of Matahiwi.
Mr Benton, of Featherstou, was slightly injured ou Tuesday evening by an explosion of acetylene.
Mr G. .*. Lewiu, town clerk of Lyttelton, was last eveniug appointed town clerk of Dunedin, at £600 a year, vice Mr R. W. Richards, resigned. There were thirty-eight applicant!?.
Mr Peter Bowliug is still' touring in New Zealand. He speaks at Palmerston North to-morrow night.
Mr H. Wellar, of the Mastertou Hospital, cut his foot rather badly with a broken bottle this morning, and will probably be confined to his bed for a few days.
Mr Victor Booth, of the Royal Academy of Music, has been appointed examiner for the Board and Royal College of Musicg Mr Booth is a nephew of Mrs Hood and a cousin of Miss Hood, of Masterton.
