The Managers of the Masterton Technical School are to be commended for the energy they are displaying iv the promotion of an Art Exhibition iv connection with the School. Although the time at their disposal is somewhat short they have already made satisfactory progress, ami have received such promises of support from prominent citizens in the town as to justify the conclusion that the exhibition will be a success. It is satisfactory to vote that the niembors have very wisely decided not to coufiue the exhibition to pictures aloue. To do so would be a mistake, and thoir decision to include also examples of applied art will, we feel certain, meet with an encouraging response. Probably one of tho most interesting sections of the exhibition will be that devoted to the work of the pupils of the art classes, in which friends and parents alike will be keenly interested. The other sections of the exhibition will, of course, also attract a wide and geueral interest and as educational factors will be valuable, The undertaking is one that deserves every encouragement, if for no other reason than that it will bring the public to a better realisation of the work that is being done at the Sciiool and of the necessity of according it every possible support.
