The Mauavvatu Tenuis Tournameur was commenced to-day. Fisher, Prouse and Stow, the most prominent players engaged, are in the semi-final. In the Men's Championship Singles, Prouse beat Fisher, '.)—4, the result being a surprise. Fisher is still in the Men's Handicap Singles.

In the Men's Champion Doubles, in the first round. Fisher and Prouse beat Johnston and Pharazyn.. 9—-0. Stow and Collins beat Wither and Waldegrave, 9—2.

The Masterton Club will be represented by the fullowiug players against Carterton, on the local courts, on Saturday next:—Mrs J. B. Henry, Miss M. H. Payton, Messrs C. C. Cox, G. G. Aitkeu,"S. R.
