THE TELEPHONE EXCHANGE
fro THE EDITOR."!
Sir,—The system of working our local Telephone Exchange must be a very bad oue. as more ofteu than not it is most difficult to get disconnected from one number aud couuected with auother, uutil an interval of from five to ten minutes has elapsed. Besides being very anuoyiug, this causes no end of inconvenience to business meu. I trust that as a result of ventilating this matter tho Department will devise some system which will do away with tiie trouble. If the system is all right, theu the trouble must be with the staff, aud the sooner the preseut state of things is remedied by the powors that be, the better for all subscribers aud the Exchange.—l am, SUBSCRIBER.
