ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

AUCKLAND, Last Night
Harry Dudley, a married man, and a painter by trade, was killed by a fall I'iom the roof of a building at the sugar works at Chelsea. TIMARU, Last Night.
A fisherman named Guudeson went out in a motor boat at 4 a.m., alone. When a mile past the outer mole somethiug went wrong, and a benzine explosion occurred. The boat was set ou fire. Guudeson threw water on the boat, but the sides began to burn, aud Guudeson was driven to the bow. He was just about to jump and swim ashore when another motor rescued him. The burning boat was taken in tow, but saufi before the shore was reached. Guudesou was badly burned about the hands a_d arms.
NAPIER, Last Night
A sensation was caused in town atabout four o'clock this afternoon by the news that Claude Catto, a wellknown accountant aud auditor, iiad shot himself in a passage at his office in Browning-street. He fired a revolver shot through his head, and died wheu being taken to the Hospital. No reason is known for his act. The deceased, who was forty-six years of age, leaves a widow aud one child.
