MACDONALD-GRANT

(From Our Gladstone Correspondent.) A quiet but very protty wedding was solemnised in tho Gladstone Church ou Wednesday, Avheu Hilda Mary Campbell Grant, eldest daughter of Mr Jos. Graut, of Gladstone, was married to Duncan Chisholm Macdonald, of Whishaw, Scotlaud. The Rev. R. Youug was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who Avas given aAvay by her father. Avore a very pretty grey Eton costume, with silk aud silk laca vest. Her hat

was of Avhita felt, trimmed Avith white silk aud plumes. Miss Leva Avas bridesmaid, aud Avore a - trimmed cream cashmere red felt hat, trimmed with Avliite silk. Mr Colin Graut acted as best mau. The Bridal March Avas played by Mrs A. J. Cooper, aud Miss Strang played the Wedding March. As the bridal party left the church they were met with showers of rice.

A reception >vas afterwards held at the residence of tlie bride's parents. Mr aud Mrs Macdonald Avere the recipients of handsome aud useful presents. They left by the afternoon express for "Wellington en route to Christchurch, Avhere they are to spend a few days Avith their relatives. They will then return to Gladstone for a day or tAVO before taking final leave of' their friends. They sail by' the AraAva for Scotland, shortly, which ■will be their future home.
